The objective of this project was resurrect the industrial icon of East London’s ‘Fridge Mountain’ – an enormous pile of discarded fridges which previously occupied the London 2012 Olympic site- and promote the upcoming Olympics Games in London to the citizens.
The name of this project developed in 2011, exactly one year before the London 2012 Olympic Games, was Films On Fridges and it contemplates an intervention in this place using fridges trash that was retired when the Olympic Stadium was built.
The project proposed to transformate the previous industrial zone in the form of a playful and interactive outdoor pop-up cinema, which screened films athletic in nature.
La Jardin pop up restaurant is a project developed by British artist called Tony Hornecker and the Chilean Cristóbal Muhr and Rodrigo Arellano. It is a itinerant project that has been installed in many towns/cities and it is based in the building of a restaurant from apparently unused remains, mostly doors and windows. This restaurant is installed together with a kitchen-garden that produces some of the food that is served after in it.
The installation chooses deserted and empty places to settle, and at the same time cultural activities such as theaters, book presentations and cooking classes are promoted the restaurant and have as an objective to involve people from neighborhood.
